Around 9pm on Friday evening 29 January demonstrators at the southern end of the square came under fire from police lines to the south. At one stage two men carrying a man with a bad head wound pushed passed me in the crowd as they tried to carry him away quickly over the railings into a small area of grass.
Some minutes later a protester drove up a police van to use as a barricade that would provide the crowd with some protection. There was a lot of aerial noise, dust and confusion. The camera screen got covered with something and after taking this shot the camera jammed completely and I couldn't get it working again.

Photo below taken with my mobile phone: Later a tank drove at protesters from the direction of the police lines and several people chased it after it passed by, one symbolicly hurling a large plastic carton towards it but two men caught up with it, jumped on. One even knocked on the driver door to talk with him but the tank then accelerated away throwing him off but luckily without any apparent injury.
